Toledo Head Start Proposal Must be a Community Based Effort
It is in the best interest of the citizens of Lucas County
that the application to the Department of Health and Human
Services for the Head Start Program be as broadly community
based as possible.
Over the last few weeks I have continued to work together
with the Mayor, the University of Toledo, TPS, EOPA and
others to bring all parties together to partner on a strong
and effective proposal from the community, taking advantage
of the strengths of key agencies and educational
institutions.
This must be a community effort and not a battle over
control.
Commissioner Gerken urges the community to work
collaboratively through this very important decision.
